"Moving home is never a walk in the park and this was no different. In actual fact, it was more like a marathon where the route kept changing at short notice. From the first meeting with Ian Butcher, I had confidence in him as an individual and the philosophy of the company to the point that i cancelled the other agents on day one. As the sale progressed Holly supervised the progress and was constantly in touch with the other parties in the chain and myself to keep me updated. Unfortunately due to the first-time buyer withdrawing, the process became protracted although after a few weeks, a new first-time buyer took up the opportunity. This of course was like starting from the beginning and created some anxiety for me as i had already purchased in another part of the country. Holly, however, kept her finger on the pulse throughout and helped enormously to keep me positive. The team at Butchers were all fully aware of the situation if Holly wasn't available and messages or emails were responded to as soon as was possible. Taking the whole process into account, it went as well as it could have given a chain of 6, but i can say that Butchers have earned their commission on this one. I can now relax and get on with a different life in a different area but estate agents are balancing all aspects of buying and selling for clients every day of the week. I have worked in estate agency and know at first-hand how demanding some clients can be & that's both buyers and sellers. I will say that fees are not a good guide of performance. It has always been my view that you get what you pay for. In this case, it was quite definitely excellent personal service and going the extra mile.
