Here are details of some of the Christmas events being held in and around Huddersfield offering some festive fun, family time, and unique gifts. By attending these Christmas events and supporting local businesses, it's a great way to support our towns and villages as they recover from the pandemic. We've put together a list of activities and events suitable for all the family that are being held in and around Huddersfield over the Christmas period.

Huddersfield Winter Festival

The Festival runs from 19th November - 24th December (Wednesdays to Sundays) and is open 11am - 9pm in St George's Square.

A place where we can all catch up under the tipis in our safe happy place. Enjoy some local music, great beers, food, community activities, family fun, relax, dance, smile and welcome the festive season in that special Huddersfield Live way.

The Festival now has a £2 entry fee for over 16s.(This won't apply Wed and Thurs before 2pm, or for just having a coffee but please see the video on the facebook page under Further Information for exact details including Covid.)

Wednesday 8th
11am - 12pm -Disability Friendly Hour
A dedicated hour or so with soft play, quiet, safe environment with an area for parents/carers to relax whilst everyone can take in the festive atmosphere safely
1pm - Greenhead College Brass Ensemble'
Always a delight to hear the students bring us some festive cheer.
2:30pm & 4:30pm - 'Kirklees College Music Students'
Level 3, Year 2 Music Students - Sasha & Dominic will perform as part of their ongoing college work - Huddersfield Live strive to help students achieve their goals with confidence and happy memories
7pm - ' Equilibrium' James Curgenven
A lovely evening of light-hearted Christmas Jazz

Thursday 9th
7pm - 'An Evening of Blues In The Tipi' Azzurri live at the Huddersfield Winter Festival
A special night with our very own talented local Blues covers band Azzurri band UK who will be supported by the fabulous 'MojoMakers'

Friday 10th
12pm & 2:30pm - 'Kirklees College Christmas Kickoff'
Level 3, Year 1 Performing Arts students will perform something very special for us, all part of their final assessments - Huddersfield Live strive to help students achieve their goals with confidence and happy memories

6pm - ' Give A Few Words - Tipi Evening'

1pm - ' Kara Jowett '
A lovely afternoon of great music from the amazing Kara
3pm - ' Double Trigger' Huddersfield Winter Festival
Classic rock duo - singing the songs that shaped their lives
7pm - ' Bathtub Soul '
Another wonderful performance from such talented young people - once again they will raise the roof of our Tipi & have everyone singing!

Sunday 12th
11am - ' Don’t Blink' - JamFactory
Local music School members, Lacey, Leah, Calum, Roman & Harry will perform in their amazing band
1:30pm - ' Mitchy Music '
Stunning acoustic duo will create a perfect afternoon with their music
6pm - ' Millstone Rock '
So excited to be spending Sunday evening rocking with these fabulous people - they will have you singing and dancing into Monday!

Santa's Magic Key at Cannon Hall Farm

4th December 2021 to 24th December 2021. On the fringe of Kirklees, Cannon Hall Farm is not far from Bretton Park and Clayton West.

Cannon Hall Farm has completely overhauled its festive offering in 2021 to bring a completely new event that’s guaranteed to leave the whole family feeling full to the brim with Christmas spirit! This year, Cannon Hall Farm has teamed up with Talegate Theatre Productions in Doncaster and The Copycat Party Company in Barnsley for an entertaining and magical event.

Tickets include access to a specially produced show that’s been created exclusively for Cannon Hall Farm. The experience tickets include farm admission (from your arrival time until closing), one Santa show session, plus a gift for paying children. Please note: this is a group experience and there is no one-on-one opportunity to see Santa. Longwood Village Group Special Christmas Coffee Morning

Saturday 4th December 2021 10am to 12pm. The Longwood Village Group holds a Coffee Morning at the Longwood Mechanics Hall from 10.00 am till 12 noon on the first Saturday of every month so come along and meet up with your old friends or come along and make some new ones. This special coffee morning has a Christmas theme and a visit from Santa. The Coffee Mornings often have a theme appropriate to the time of year or some National or International event. There is always a raffle and a cake stall. The Library is always open, where they sell second-hand books for 50p each. There is always a good selection of children's books, paperback novels and reference books on a wide variety of subjects and they also sell second hand Jigsaws and DVD,s.

The library also contains two computers with access to the internet and printing facilities, these are available for use by members of Longwood Village Group free of charge.

All the money that is raised at the Coffee Mornings is used to further improve the facilities of the Mechanics Hall or to improve the environment in Longwood and the surrounding areas so as to enhance the quality of life and experience of local residents.

Huddersfield Parish Church Christmas Fair 2021

Saturday 4 December 2021 - 10:00am - 4:00pm at St Peters Church, Byram Street, Huddersfield, HD1 1BU. The Christmas Fair will feature stalls from RSPCA, Save the Children, Forget-me-not Hospice and The Joseph Salmon Trust. The church will be running its usual bookstall, crafts, gifts, tombola, raffle and refreshments. In addition this year Huddersfield Parish Church are planning an interactive Family Advent Nativity Trail with craft activities for all the family such as glitter tattoos, badge making, crafts and prayers. Join Oakwell Hall for their Christmas Craft Fair - get ready for the Festive season with unique and unusual gift ideas, decorations and treats! Also, Santa Trail around The Hall. £4 per child including a present! Unfortunately, Santa will not be visiting for the Christmas Fair this year. However, there's an exciting Trail running around The Hall with a message from The Big Man himself! No booking is necessary, collect a trail sheet from The Shop.
