Description: Christine from Art-Room, is running a 3 week mosaic course at Penistone Library. In sessions you will be designing and making four mosaic coasters. All materials will be provided. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and have a chat, all whilst learning a new skill. Sessions are taking place on Fridays 4th, 11th and 18th of October, 10am-12pm. Christmas music from Penistone FM and Thurlstone brass band. Penistone Town Council light switch on around or just after 5pm followed by a visit by the Round Table and Father Christmas. Finally the Tractor Lads Christmas Tractor drive through the town centre. (This will have flashing lights and will have loud tractor horns) The Penistone theatre group will make an appearance with Sopwith the camel.

Barnsley Town Hall will once again transform into a festive wonderland for the much-loved Christmas at the Town Hall event, taking place on Saturday, 7th December, from 11 am to 3 pm. Santa Claus and his cheerful helpers will be on hand to welcome families into this magical setting, spreading holiday cheer throughout the day.
Now a staple in Barnsley’s festive calendar—and Santa’s—this annual event has grown in popularity, with over 2,000 visitors attending last year. This year’s free celebration promises to delight once again, featuring a variety of seasonal activities, live entertainment, creative crafts, and delicious treats for the whole family to enjoy.
One of the day’s highlights will undoubtedly be the arrival of Father Christmas himself. At precisely 10:55 am, Santa will make a grand entrance in his sleigh to officially open the event. He’ll then settle into his grotto, ready to greet Barnsley’s children and distribute gifts to those who’ve made it onto the nice list.
To ensure every child receives the perfect age-appropriate gift, tickets for Santa’s grotto must be booked in advance. Parents are encouraged to include their child’s age when reserving a spot to guarantee a magical experience for all.
